Athens,Greece
In 2019, after several years away, I returned to Athens—a city that, in many ways, had become unfamiliar, yet was still deeply connected to my past. This project began as a personal exploration, a journey through the streets of a city that had always been a part of me, but had shifted in my absence.
Walking through Athens, I encountered moments of stillness, transitions, and the energy of a place in constant flux. Though the global pandemic cast a shadow over this period, its impact was only a fragment of the larger story I was witnessing. The true essence of this project lies in the way time and space intertwine, and how a return to one’s roots can feel both like an arrival and an unraveling of the self.
The streets of Athens became my canvas, and with each step, I documented the passage of time—the quiet solitude, the fleeting encounters, and the raw, unguarded moments that often go unnoticed. This ongoing exploration is a reflection of life’s cyclical nature, a constant reimagining of home and identity.
